God Is A Good God!

This article was inspired by a Christian sister in my Bible study group at church, she asked recently in our weekly meeting “Why does God allow so much evil in the world since He is a good God?”
Not everyone today understands what the goodness of God means. Many do not understand it in light of the Bible or of the nature and workings of God.
The Bible reveals in Habakkuk 2:14 that the time is coming when the knowledge of God of how He is and what He does, of God’s goodness will be far more widespread than it is today. “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea”.
Psalm 145:6-9 says “Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness. The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works”.
When things are going smoothly in your life, you might not find it hard to believe that God is good. But if life takes a bad turn and something devastating happens, you might ask, "How could a good God allow this?

In 2 Corinthians 4:8–10, the word of God says “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.”
There is evil in the world and in our personal lives as Christians for different reasons, but through it all we are being made more into the image of God. Jesus is greater than every hardship; he is victorious over every pain. All of life’s tragedies, sorrows, and iniquities should ultimately lift our gaze to the day when the sinful difficulties of life will be taken away and the formative tensions of life will only and fully point us toward the goodness and glory of Jesus. In other words, we should long for the day when our craving for meaning will be fully and finally satisfied in God himself.
To know God is the most important and meaningful relationship you can have. To know His goodness is inspiring, it fills us with hope, and it motivates us to live a life of meaning, confidence and purpose. You can get to know God better. Read and study the Bible daily to find His purpose for your life. God is indeed a Good God. Shalom my friends!
