Did you speak good words in 2016?

Ephesians Chap 4 Vrs 29” Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Speak evil of no one according to the above scripture. If your words will not bless someone then please don’t speak it. Evil words cut more deeply than a sword. Words may not break somebody’s bones but can break a heart so we have to be careful what we say to others.

How did you use your tongue in 2016? Did you bless, curse or backbite others? Was your tongue encouraging? Was it edifying? Was it Kind? Did it speak the truth? Was it a blessing? Was the words you spoke good to the ears? Was it life to those oppressed or treated badly? The word of God says we should speak evil of no man even if they are bad or evil. Did you obey this instruction?

Proverbs 16 vr 24 “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones”.

Speaking evil of others can stop God’s blessings from reaching us. We cannot use the mouth we use to backbite or curse others to talk to God and ask for His blessings? God cannot be mocked. It is a sin to speak evil of others, watch your words so your blessings will not be hindered.

Psalm 101 v5 “Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.”

Many wonder why their prayers are yet to be answered in 2016, it could be that you were your own enemy; your evil words against others could be what is hindering that prayer request. If the word of God says I will cut you off if you speak evil as seen in Palm 101 vr5 then surely every evil speaker will be cut off. Isaiah 55:10-14 says “God's Word Shall Not Return Void”. 11, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Before we speak we must ask ourselves, ‘Will these words really convey what I want to say? What effect will my choice of words have on my listener?’ The fact is our tongues may be used for the glory of God by blessing others; or they may be misused, bringing sorrow and tears to others, and in the process hindering the testimony of the Lord.

Many pray against witches and wizards but they make use of their attributes. Let our words be pleasing to God, let heaven rejoice at what we speak over others, let’s be worthy to come into God’s presence always!

Psalm 19 vr 14 “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Let’s not be only professing Christians but doers, real Christians!

Jesus Christ never spoke one wrong word. We are all guilty. Let us go to Him and ask Him to help us by His spirit to tame our tongues to be blessings. Let us seek grace to love as Christ loved, speak as Christ spoke, and walk as Christ walked.” If you are guilty of making use of your tongue badly in 2016, all you need do is repent and ask God for forgiveness then turn a new leaf in 2017, and your life will never be the same again! Happy 2017 in advance God bless us all!
